Now you can buy a hi-def player: the five best Blu-ray players

It’s been building up to a crescendo, with Toshiba’s announcement expected sometime this week that they are indeed pulling their support of the HD DVD format. At least the conclusion to this bloody battle will result in all of you finally being able to splurge your retirement money on a hi-def player, or upgrade your tired multi-format to one of these Blu-ray players.

MWC 2008: Samsung handsets round-up

Samsung had the longest line-up of all the manufacturers, with 12 models displayed at the Mobile World Congress show. It’s enough to give anyone Samsung fatigue!

MWC 2008: The L770, E251 and i200 mobile phones from Samsung slightly better than the previous three

MWC 2008: Samsung hedges its bets with both Google Android and Linux-based LiMo handsets

Clever sods. Instead of just banking on one format, they’re hedging their bets and developing handsets for both Google’s Android and the LiMo Foundation, with some Linux-based handsets. They must’ve learnt their fence-sitting ways recently with their HD DVD/Blu-ray multi-players.
