China allows access to Wikipedia – but nothing dodgy about Tibet allowed
Chinese authorities seem to be gradually lessening their censorship rules to keep the IOC happy, with Wikipedia popping up for those stuck on the other side of the ‘Firewall of China’.
Select English-language pages now appear for vandalism, although try looking up ‘Tiananmen Square’ or ‘Tibet’ and you’ll still be greeted with an error message. Also, the Chinese-language pages are still blocked, so it’s either a temporary glitch in the awesome-sounding Golden Shield Project, or we’re seeing China start to appease foreign visitors…

Wii outsells PS3 by three-to-one in Japan during March
Latest sales figures for March show that Nintendo sold 265k Wiis in March, compared to Sony’s rather poor 81k PS3s. And the gap is widening – just last week, Sony sold slightly over 11,000 PlayStation3s in Japan, while Nintendo shifted nearly 49k Wiis.
Poor old Sony just can’t turn things around for PS3…
Four HD channels will arrive in time for the 2012 Olympics, says airwave police Ofcom
The slow, painful, expensive trek toward free-to-air HD TV channels took another tiny little baby step forward today, with wireless data chiefs Ofcom declaring that we’ll definitely have HD TV through our telly aerials by 2012.
Previously Ofcom and the major broadcasters signed a “non-binding memorandum of understanding” stating that they were all well up for it in principle – now it’s 100% definitely happening. No more massively expensive Sky HD subscription required!
A total of four HD…
Rock lessens the burden with new Pegasus 210 ultraportable
The laptop world’s a funny old place. You can buy a top-spec machine in an ugly old case for £299, or you could have a Vaio or MacBook Air with the same specs for £1500. How does that make sense?
Aggressively attacking the vacant mid-ground is this – the new Pegasus 210 from power-maker Rock. It features a 12″ screen, classy magnesium alloy body…

Grand Theft Auto IV BANNED in the UK
Certification body the BBFC has thrown the gaming world into crisis today, by refusing to grant GTA IV a UK certificate.
The violent crime series has usually received a Certificate 18 rating in the past – but this time Rockstar has gone TOO FAR.
Saying the game “Glorifies America to an unacceptable degree…
LG showing off three new smartphones this week
There’s another one of those technology trade shows happening this week, so expect at least 50 consecutive updates about marginally different forms of mobile telephone. We will try our hardest to appear enthused, even when reporting on the budget models.
The three phones LG will be showing off are, from left to right, the LG CU920 (aka LG Vu), the VX9100 and the AX830 (aka LG Glimmer). And here they are, being demonstrated with enthusiasm – and a smile!
They – the phones, and possibly the ladies – will be on the showfloor at…
