IMOVIO launch sub-sub-sub-sub-notebook – the iKit
In fact it’s more of a super-mobile than a sub-notebook. This tiny tiny device – the iKit – has a QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a webcam. It runs Linux, and apparently has apps built in for web browsing, email and IM.
T-Mobile G1 to hit the UK shelves on 30th October – 15 days and counting!
Set your clocks to countdown, chalk those tallies onto the wall and start crossing off days on your calendar with a red marker pen because the G1 is a-comin’.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, chipsets and chipsettes; we have the dates, we have times and we have the tariffs too on the first phone to come with the Google Android platform, and the news is as follows…
LG announces second touchscreen Prada phone with real keyboard
As rumoured a couple of months ago, LG and Prada have teamed up to launch a successor to the original Prada phone that launched last year.
At first glance, the new Prada phone looks very similar to the first, but it now sports a thin slide-out silver metallic keyboard and a beefy 5-megapixel camera (up from two) with Schneider-Kreuznach certified lens…
LG announces LG-KC780 eight megapixel slim slider phone
Hot on the heels of the KC910 Renoir (reviewed here) comes another eight megapixel camera phone from LG.
The LG-KC780 doesn’t sport a touchscreen — a small mercy for anyone who can’t stand the recent crop of iPhone wannabes — but still packs in a 2.4-inch widescreen LCD on a slim (13.9mm) slider body.
Claiming that “most of the time people use the cameras on their mobile phones to take pictures of themselves, their families, friends and significant others”, LG has included a number of face-enhancing features: Face Detection, Smile Detection, and Beauty Mode (removes blemishes)…
LG-KP500: UK's most affordable touchscreen mobile handset coming October
LG has announced its latest full touchscreen mobile phone handset, the LG-KP500, which it claims is the UK’s most affordable yet. We’ll have to take the company’s word on that, because official pricing hasn’t yet been announced.
In fact, details are pretty sketchy all round. Looks wise, it’s slim, encased in black with a titanium rim. Features include handwriting recognition, on-screen QWERTY keyboard, auto-orientation when the handset is turned through 90 degrees, plus a motion sensor for gaming options.
Yes, it does sound remarkably like that “i” phone, doesn’t it, except it comes with a built-in stylus for more accurate tapping of icons. Presumably LG is more concerned over chunky fingers than Apple…

Vodafone has announced that it’s to roll out a ChargeBox service across a number of its stores, allowing anyone to hire a secure locker and charge up their portable device while out and about.
Following successful trials in 12 locations across the country, the service will now roll out in 30 of Vodafone’s stores. There’s no special treatment for Vodafone’s own customers, with everyone paying a pound for 30 minutes, up to two pounds for 90 minutes of charge time.
Each box contains a variety of adapters to ensure that the majority of phones and devices can be charged up…

Samsung Pixon specifications revealed, photographer Nick Turpin involved in launch

Samsung to launch second 8MP Omnia-like camera phone: the M8800?
There’s a bit of online speculation over one of Samsung’s next mobile phones. Its model number is the M8800, but as to its actual name (the one people might more easily remember than a few letters and numbers cobbled together) — well that could be Bresson, or it could be Pixon.
With that in mind, take these specifications as tentative. The handset could have a large touchscreen (3.2-inch with 240 x 400 resolution) like the Omnia, but with an eight megapixel camera like the INNOV8…
Ryanair: In-flight mobile phone calls possible within weeks
You know the drill. When you get on a plane, it’s all “Seatbacks up!”, ”
Stow your tray tables!”, “The exits are here, here, and here!”, and “For the love of god, turn your phone off!”. Well, perhaps not any longer. Ryanair have outfitted ten of their planes with the capability to allow you to make in-flight phone calls.
