PAYG phone with 5-megapixels? Yep, you've got it, with the LG KC550
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this handset floating about on the internet, thanks to FCC approval documents surfacing a month ago. Today, however, LG saw fit to formally introduce it to the world, and has given us some more details about the LG-KC550, or KC550 as it’s been fondly nicknamed.
Now, you can snap photos on it with the impressive 5.0-megapixel sensor, image stabiliser and Schneider-Kreuznach lens, however it’s sadly not 3G-capable, meaning if you want to send those photos anywhere? Yep, it’ll be on ye olde slow 2G, or via MMS, however it is being marketed as a pre-pay handset, which may explain the lack of high-speed internet…
HP adds dv4, dv5 and dv7 notebooks to Pavilion range, the former with integrated 3G
We didn’t get any new MacBooks this week, however HP has announced plans to add three new consumer notebooks to its Pavilion range – the dv4 (measuring 14.1″), dv5 (measuring 15.4″), and dv7 (17″) which are all pictured above.
The three models all feature AMD or Intel Centrino 2 processors, plus high-speed eSATA interfaces. Most notable however, is the dv4 which has integrated WWAN for 3G internet connectivity, the first consumer laptop to do so, with the HDD starting at 120GB. Obituary: The iPod Touch is dead, thanks to the 3G iPhone's £100 pricing
Someone was killed during Steve Jobs’s keynotes speech at the WWDC event today. Anyone remember the iPod Touch? He was the little fellow who looked just like an iPhone, but was available in an 8GB, 16GB and 32GB storage choice.
You could do almost everything on an iPod Touch that you could do on an iPhone, apart from that one important factor – that it lacked phone capabilities. Still, it was cheaper, with the 8GB option coming in at £199, whereas the 8GB iPhone was originally £269 before Apple chopped £100 off the price, less than two months ago.
Now however, who’d want an iPod Touch, considering Steve Jobs tonight said 8GB iPhones would cost $199, or £100 up front? Sure, there’s still the £30 or so that you have to pay each month for the contract, but most people pay that much for their mobile phone contracts anyway…

Out with the old, and in with the new, as the saying goes – something Apple has obviously embraced, as they’ve turfed out the first generation iPhone, and replaced it with the 3G iPhone on their site. WWDC 2008: Snow Leopard, the next Apple operating system, announced by Steve Jobs
In addition to announcing the 3G iPhone, Steve Jobs said that developers would be able to check out a preview of the next operating system for Apple, Snow Leopard.

WWDC 2008: 3G iPhone 2 to be £100 in UK, on July 11th
Jobs said “these are all signed, sealed and delivered”, so by the end of the year, the 3G iPhone will be available in 70 countries, with Mexico, Canada and countries in South America first, and other countries being added at later dates – Spain, Africa, and Japan included.
The 3G iPhone, on the other hand, will be available from July 11th, at no more than $199 in each country for the 8GB version – that’s £100 here in the UK. The 16GB version will be available in white, for $299, or £150, for us…
