Iron Man is proud to endorse LG's VX9400 mobile phone
Iron Man and his female love interest will send each other important text messages using LG mobile phones in the forthcoming blockbuster, after LG revealed it’s done the deal to fill the movie with its products.
Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Gywneth Paltrow’s Pepper will each use an LG model – with the VX9400 TV phone and the company’s KS20 Windows Mobile smartphone getting the nod…
Google working on mobile phone OS to rival Microsoft
After months of speculation, it seems that we finally know what Google's phone plans are. They won't be making a physical mobile phone, but instead creating a Linux-based operating system and software which could theoretically work on a large number…
LG 'Corona' K520 Windows Mobile smartphone: "Like the Prada, but with more features…"
It was a frustrating experience nosing around LG’s mobile demo room in its Seoul office today. There were loads of new phones sprinkled around the room, but no photographs were allowed. You’ll have to excuse the image-free nature of this post, in other words.
Pick of the bunch was the new K520 handset, which is currently codenamed ‘Corona’ (although this isn’t final apparently). It’s a smartphone running the Windows Mobile 6 operating system, with a full 2.8-inch touchscreen, two-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and push-email.
“It looks like the Prada, but with more features in it,” said the guide…
Nokia N94i running Windows Mobile? Our fakeometer just exploded…
You might think the idea of Nokia releasing a Windows Mobile smartphone is ridiculous when it has its own Series 60 operating system. The vast majority of geeks would agree.
But if you’re the sort of person who’d rather trust obscure Thai auction sites offering blurry snaps of prototype handsets…
Well, you might want to check out this supposed N94i, which besides running Windows Mobile, apparently has a touchscreen’n’stylus, two-megapixel camera and MP3-playing capabilities. It’s up for sale on the Sanook auction site.
HP launches Business Navigator and Business Messenger iPaqs
HP staged a mammoth launch last night in New York, and demonstrated their commitment to the (some say) dying PDA market, launching two new models aimed at the enterprise market. However, they had some smartphone offerings too, as seen in the Business Navigator (iPaq 614c) and the Business Messenger (iPaq 914c) pictured here.
The amazing PowerDic dictionary for Windows Mobile
We are quite clearly only mentioning this because of its name.
PowerDic, from Korean company DIOTEK, is just a dictionary, designed to work on Windows Mobile-powered phones. It supports text-to-speech functions, which would be quite funny for five minutes when you get it and make it say all the swear words.
Review: HP iPAQ 500 Series
Normally, when I think smartphone, I think QWERTY keyboards. I think bulky touchscreen displays and 3G (or better yet, HSDPA) connectivity. So the HP iPAQ 500 Series candybar handset is a bit of a break from the norm. It runs Windows Mobile 6.0 and as such comes with the full range of push email and mobile office applications, media player and Windows Live Messenger, yet it is still barely bigger than any ordinary camera phone.
