SHINY VIDEO REVIEW: Dell Inspiron Mini 10
Here Zara takes a look at the latest netbook offering from Dell, the Inspiron Mini 10:
Here’s a quick spec check for anything you may have missed:
- Intel Atom Processor Z520 (1.33GHz, 533MHz) 1GB RAM
- 10.1-inch WSVGA Truelife LCD display
- 1024MB 533MHz DDR2 SDRAM
- 160GB (5,400rpm) SATA hard drive
You can pick one of these up direct from Dell for £299. They also do a version with a slightly faster processor (1.60GHz, 533MHz) which is usually £329, but is available for £309 until 24th June.
Man makes LEGO DSi and stylus – nutter.
To celebrate the launch of the Nintendo DSi, some nut bag by the name of Sam Kenney has spent 200 hours building a giant LEGO replica of the popular handheld. It uses 51,324 blocks and features a large cat with big, yellow LEGO eyes along with the kind of paws that would probably feel really odd if it patted you for food.

SHINY VIDEO REVIEW: Emtec S800 HDD Movie Cube
Over Christmas I ate a lot of turkey, drank a lot of wine, and fiddled endlessly with this – the Emtec S800 movie cube. I’ll break it to you now – it’s not a cube – but it is a great little home entertainment set-top-box that lets you stream video over a network and record television.
Not one for the technophobic amongst you, but if you like tinkering with your AV setup then it comes highly recommended. It costs £230 and the company claims it’s available now from Dixons, but I certainly can’t see it on the site, or anywhere else for that matter. Helphound.com – local business review site, plus dispute resolution
I know what you’re thinking, yet another business review site. On the face of it, that’s true – at first glance there’s nothing separating Helphound from Yell, WeLoveLocal or TouchLocal. Look closer, however, and you’ll find plenty to like.
Much like the aforementioned sites, Helphound provides a community centered around reviewing organizations and businesses. Helphound’s differentiating factor, though, is a dispute resolution mechanic, where businesses can dispute a bad review, allowing them to remove it temporarily from the site and try to engage the customer instead. If they fail, the review goes straight back up.

2008’s been an awesome year for silly internet videos, as the compilation from Videogum above proves. There are some crackers missing, but you can rest assured that most of your favourites are present and correct. Now sit back, and let the year flash before your eyes.

SHINY VIDEO REVIEW: BlackBerry Storm Part One
Here’s Susi’s initial thoughts on the Blackberry Storm. On the model we got sent, there’s a bug with the browser, so we can’t give it a proper proper review until that’s fixed, but in the interests of keeping you lot as informed as possible, Susi filmed some thoughts on the build of the handset, and her initial impressions.

Shiny Video Review: Nokia N96
Ladies and Gentlemen, the N96 has arrived. The eagerly-anticipated follow up to the N95 and N95 8GB came out on the 1st October, and by clicking “play” on the above video, you’ll be able to see for yourself, too.
Couple of quick things to add – the PC connector isn’t as proprietary as I claim – it’s MicroUSB. Still, those connectors aren’t exactly common yet, so the point remains. Also, the phone does have Nokia Maps 2.0, I don’t think it comes installed by default. Of course, I strongly recommend using it over the rubbishy Nokia Maps 2.0.
