Perhaps spurred on by the recent release of Internet Explorer 8, Mozilla has announced that version three of their Firefox browser is “ready for prime time”.

Though the software is still undergoing development, with the final version not expected until around June, developers are now happy to recommend that everyday computer users download it, or upgrade from Firefox 2 if they’ve been using that.

Previously, they only recommended that developers tried out the beta versions.

Mozilla Corp Vice President of Engineering, Mike Schroepfer, believes that Firefox 3 “is much more stable than anything else out there”.

Future changes will include the visual look and feel of the software and improving stability.
