And the satnav phones keep on coming, with Samsung’s i560 the latest to set the blogosphere buzzing. It’s apparently a slider smartphone running the Series 60 operating system, and will have a 2.4-inch screen, a 3.2-megapixel digital camera, and will be a 3G phone.

Oh, and it’s reported to have been snapped up by Vodafone as an exclusive, although I couldn’t find it on the operator’s announcement of its Christmas line-up. The GPS feature will put it in direct competition with Nokia’s N95, which is another slider smartphone – although hopefully Samsung’s model will have a better battery life.

It looks like GPS could be a more important feature on the high street this Christmas, anyway. Could GPS mobiles put a dent in sales of standalone satnav devices this holiday season? Let us know your thoughts by posting a comment.
