Thieves can't be bothered with HD-DVD
That’s the spin the Blu-ray consortium is no doubt hastily applying to The DVD Dossier’s story about a theft at Seattle music and film store Silver Platters.
Apparently the thieves “knew what they wanted” – which involved clearing out the Blu-ray section and leaving all the HD-DVDs where they were. $7000 of gear was nicked, which means they took about six Blu-ray discs.
This news can only mean it’s Thursday afternoon and we have run out of proper news stories for the week already. Tomorrow’s going to be a nightmare.
