Dame Shirley Bassey had a narrow escape this weekend, following her triumphant set at Glastonbury. No, she didn’t eat one of the burgers. It’s just another case of helicopter malfunctions repeating, I’m afraid.
The helicopter flying her home developed a fault, and had to crash-land in Surrey, clipping trees before coming to rest in someone’s back garden. Don’t worry folks: Dame Shirley was a trooper: “You could tell Dame Shirley had been through a terrible ordeal but she maintained her dignity,” an eyewitness said.
What’s the tech angle? Don’t trust helicopters, obviously. Even the remote-controlled ones could take a man’s head off at any second. Probably.
