Canon releases five more digital cameras: two IXUS, three PowerShot

Canon keeps its foot on the gas with today’s launch of five new compact digital cameras, adding two to its IXUS range and three to its PowerShot range.

First up, the IXUS 980 IS features a whopping 14.7 megapixels coupled with 3.7x optical zoom. Full manual control is also offered.

The IXUS 870 IS offers a more modest 10 megapixels, with a 4x optical zoom, 28mm wide-angle lens.

The 980 comes with a 2.5″ PureColor LCD, while the 870 has a three inch LCD.

Both feature image stabilisation, Canon’s new DIGIC 4 processor that offers a range of features including face detection and image blur correction, and 30fps VGA movie mode…

Canon launches two new SELPHY photo printers: ES3, ES30

Canon has announced two additions to its SELPHY line of photo printers: the ES3 and ES30.

Designed to be portable, with a compact, vertical design and fixed carry handle, the ES3 features a 3.5-inch LCD and the ES30 a three-inch LCD, for easy selection and editing of photos.

Key features include built-in image optimisation (trimming, red-eye correction), creating print button for adding frames and filter effects, direct printing from cameras and memory cards, wireless printing, plus storing of favourite prints in the ES3’s 1GB of memory…

Canon EOS 50D DSLR: it's official, and it's looking good

The late bank holiday has done Canon some good, for it’s now officially released details of the new EOS 50D, following last week’s faux pas.

So, to business. The 50D features a newly-designed CMOS sensor delivering a beefy 15.1 megapixels, and promising crisp, ultra-detailed, low-noise images as a result.

Canon has announced four new compact digital cameras in its PowerShot range, boasting high megapixel count, decent optical zoom, image stabilisation, and a range of other handy consumer-friendly technology.

PowerShot SX110 IS

The PowerShot SX110 IS (replacing last year’s SX100 IS) features a nine megapixel sensor (up from eight), 10x optical zoom with optical image stabiliser, and both easy and manual modes to cater for all levels of expertise.
