Radio-controlled sperm taps could replace vasectomies
The battle to prevent men from spreading their seed like dogs on heat goes on. Scientists in Australia have developed a high-tech replacement for the vasectomy. It’s a radio-controlled implant that acts as a valve inside your sperm ducts, opening and closing according to preference.
Now Japan wants to fly paper planes in Space
With the Cold War a distant memory, what are space researchers to do to fill their time? Make paper planes, that’s what. At least, this is what researchers at the University of Tokyo are doing, in partnership with – who else? – the Japan Origami Airplane Association. Obviously, this is paper planes that can fly in Space.
Sci-fi dreams coming true – cloaking device now a reality
That weird black blurry thing on the left is something very important. No, I am not pregnant. It is a cloaked plastic object of some sort, hidden from view by clever scientists.
This is quite complicated science, so please excuse me if I just kind of gloss over the whys and hows of all this, and just say “Hey, wow! Cloaking devices like in Star Trek! Awesome!”.
Koreans are PLAYING GOD by making glow in the dark cats
This will be useful. You’ll be able to see them from further away, which means it’ll be easier to ignore the arrogant little creatures.

It’s all part of an EC scheme called CityMobil, with the Cybercars running on a light track, and designed to be used in pedestrianised zones and tourist areas. “We can build lots more car parks and have lots more cars going in, or we can look at a viable alternative to the car,” local council leader Chris Millar tells the Beeb. “We believe this could be the answer.”
There are a few potential pitfalls though…
NASA wants YOU to be a moonwalking astronaut
From the age of six, I wanted to be a top tech blogger (obviously), but before that I had my sights set on space, and a career as an astronaut. However, here’s some news that’s reawakened those early ambitions: NASA is on the hunt for new astronauts, and the successful candidates could be walking on the Moon by 2020!
New technology by Coca Cola allows ice-cubes to form in bottles of Sprite
Like consumers need another reason to drink Coca Cola products! Nonetheless, the world’s largest soft drink manufacturer has created a new form of keeping their bottles of fizz ice-cold by packing new technology into each bottle, so when the cap is twisted off, a mechanism inside will create ice made from the drink itself…
