Your mum and dad may have told you off for having your head in the clouds, but at least you’ll be the first to know when the imminent alien invasion hits. Now, thanks to a new augmented reality game from Israeli developers Soulbit7, you’ll be more than ready to take on the little green men before they land in your garden.

The new Look-Up app uses your iPhone’s or iPod’s camera and compass in tandem to lay flying saucers onto your real world surroundings. It’s up to you to blast them into a million pieces. Two game modes feature – a 360-degree blast-a-thon that has you taking on aliens from all sides, or 180-degree mode, better suited for a calm sofa-shooting session.

There’s also now a gyroscope compatible version for 4th Gen iPods and iPhones too called AR Invaders, giving you further control over the action.
