'Let's spend the fortnight together' (sorry) – Imeem stream Stones' latest album for 2 weeks

Digital Music, Internet

Keith-Richards.jpgThe Rolling Stones are streaming their latest album for free on Imeem, a week before it hits stores. Shine A Light (no new stuff, just old stuff, live), soundtrack to the forthcoming Martin Scorcese documentary of the same name (which is all about the Stones, incidentally), drops on April 1st.

It’s the start of a collection of big name artists the music-driven online community hope to be showing off, after signing a content licensing deal with Sony BMG, EMI, Warner and Universal.

BTW, this is as good a place as any to mention SoCal punk legends Pennywise have jumped on the bandwagon and offered their latest album, Reason to Believe, for free on MySpace for two weeks, in a link-up with MySpace Records and US mobile music distributor Textango. Go get it!
