macbook_air_back.jpgGood news for anyone contemplating buying a MacBook Air, who is also looking for a decent mobile broadband package. PC World and 3 have announced that they’re extending their discounted PC offer to now include the slinky new MacBook Air.

Anyone signing up for the £35 per month mobile broadband service can now opt to get £250 off the new MacBook Air. That’s £100 less of a discount than other deals, but it’s still a saving worth having if you want the machine and were planning to make the most of the service as well.

As Stuart mentioned in the first announcement, it will otherwise end up costing you a lot more. Still, it’s not a bad way of getting hold of one of the most hotly talked about notebooks at a reduced price.

Glenn Orchard, head of commercial development at PC World, said, “The new MacBook Air is the ultimate portable laptop and this is the best deal on the market today. Combining the MacBook Air with the 3 Mobile Broadband service creates the ultimate mobile broadband experience, enabling proud owners to put their phenomenal laptop through its paces on the move. We’re delighted to offer this unique combination, which we’re sure will be a hit with Apple fans.”

Stock is expected within the next few days, and customers can pre-order now.

  • Excellent read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch because I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch!

  • I agree its far far from a deal as advertised. I have mentioned this to the office of fair trading in a vain hope that they might look into this.

However, the best we all can do is to spread the word about this sour deal so nobody is conned into signing up.

I can’t believe that some people may actually go ahead and take up this offer!!!!!!!

  • Erm, the FACTS are that PC World and 3 have extended the offer to include the MacBook Air.

Both Stuart and I have stated that it’s probably not a great deal.

As you’re so good at FACTS, apparently, please do tell me how this deal from 3 is the same, giving you money off a new PC or MacBook Air?

  • Why does no one check the facts? You can buy the same deal off-contract direct from 3 for just £15/month, rsther than £35. This is no deal at all, but good PR.
