Some law-breaking CRIMINAL has been hacking around with Sony’s PlayStation emulator (presumably nicked from the PSP) and Apple’s iPhone OS, managing to get a basic PS1 emulator working on the iPhone and the phoneless iPod Touch.
He’s getting around Apple’s hatred of buttons by overlaying the PlayStation controller’s buttons over the game screen, but at the moment the screenshots he’s released show it running at a pretty disappointing frame rate. Creator ZodTTD reckons it’s just a work in progress – and that his beta test, due in days, will sort all that out and make it work a lot better.
It still won’t solve the biggest problem, though – that stealing games is WRONG and you’re all committing CRIMINAL ACTS whenever you play unofficial emulators of any kind. And imagine how saddened Steve jobs will be, personally, should he ever find out.
