We first reported on Spyke in January when he was unveiled at CES. He’s a pint-sized robot with built-in Wi-Fi, a microphone and a video camera. The idea: he trundles around your home keeping an eye on things, and then feeds you live footage whenever you want to
spy on your family check everything’s secure.
He also works with Skype for VoIP calls, and can play MP3 tunes too. Anyway, Spyke is now available to pre-order from gadget website Red5. The Meccano-branded bot is expected to be available in September, and will cost you £200. Who knows, if he wins our Robot World Cup, his value may go up before he even goes on sale.
