zaptag2.jpgBack in July we reported on the Zaptag USB memory stick that allows wearers to store vital medical information for use by medical professionals in an emergency.

Now Fisher’s Travel SOS have announced a partnership with Zaptag that will make a destination’s Critical Contact information available alongside your personal emergency records, for any country you travel to.

Fisher’s Travel SOS provides over 200 contacts, telephone numbers and addresses plus various and detailed information for a specific destination around the world. It lists help and actions required ‘Before You Go’ abroad, known dangers and hazards, local and national emergency contacts in the event of a disaster, plus essential, translated, words and phrases with pictures to point to if communication is difficult. All information can be printed to a standard printer.

Julian Fisher of Fisher’s Travel SOS, “The single greatest threat to a person’s well being while abroad is the lack of information. Not knowing who to call and where to go in the event of a crisis is something all travellers suffer. Fisher’s solves this dilemma by providing local contacts and critical information for each specific destination within a country. Delivering this in a format that can be accessed easily and readily anywhere in the world has been made possible on Zaptag.”

This sounds like a really good service addition to a useful product, and with 256MB and 512MB versions of their wristband available, plus the 256MB USB stick, there’s still plenty of room for storing other useful information such as travel itineraries, tickets and passport scans, digital maps, and web links.
