The BBC has outlined plans to create a huge online information archive of over eight decades of its radio and television programmes.
The Corporation plans to create a web page for every programme it has ever broadcast, featuring information about the show, links, and video clips. With digital switchover beginning at the end of this year and due to be complete by 2012, UK communication industry regulator Ofcom will find themselves with a whole load of spare UHF bandwidth and no analogue TV service to use it.
