Sexy ladies and mobile phones, it has to be LG – LG Decoy with internal Bluetooth headset

LG-decoy.jpg

So much to look at. Between the handsets, the headsets and the four alluring eyes – two wild and predatory and the others homely but cheeky – I’m not sure what it is that LG want me to buy? Believe me, I’m in but am I supposed to be shelling out for a new phone or for a picture of a pretty girl on the phone box? Perhaps this is why LG has named their new mobile phone the LG Decoy?…

PAYG phone with 5-megapixels? Yep, you've got it, with the LG KC550

lg-kc550.jpg

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this handset floating about on the internet, thanks to FCC approval documents surfacing a month ago. Today, however, LG saw fit to formally introduce it to the world, and has given us some more details about the LG-KC550, or KC550 as it’s been fondly nicknamed.

Now, you can snap photos on it with the impressive 5.0-megapixel sensor, image stabiliser and Schneider-Kreuznach lens, however it’s sadly not 3G-capable, meaning if you want to send those photos anywhere? Yep, it’ll be on ye olde slow 2G, or via MMS, however it is being marketed as a pre-pay handset, which may explain the lack of high-speed internet…

LG launches two stretched monitors: anyone for a game of Defender?

lge_stretch_monitor.jpg

LG has announced two stretched monitors designed for large public areas where widescreen or “tallscreen” displays could be used to display data or other content.

Though they look as if they may have suffered from a spot of medieval torture, they are in fact meant to be this way, boasting either 29 or 38 inches diagonally with a resolution of either 1,366 x 398 and 1,366 x 480. They can be used either vertically or horizontally, have a contrast ratio of 1,000:1, and a 9ms response rate…

LG SolarCUBE: A microwave/oven in the trueist sense

LG-solar-cube.jpg

I don’t have a microwave and I regretted it on Monday morning as I sat in my dressing gown eating the cold left-overs of my Char Siu (not a dog). If I did buy one (not a dog), it might look a little like the LG SolarCUBE. On the other hand, it might not.

The SolarCUBE actually looks quite good. It’s basically a top of the range light oven or microwave with actual oven cooking facilities…

LG blushes with Scarlet goodies, rolls out the HT953TVP home cinema system

lg-home-audio-3.jpg

Looking very similar to the Design Art set-up shown off at IFA last year, LG has added to the Scarlet range of TVs announced at CES in January, with the Scarlet HT953TVP.

Little is known about the home theatre set-up, apart from it containing 5.1 channels to play around with, and it offering Virtual Sound Matrix for simulating a 10.1 audio experience…

Need clean clothes in 20 minutes? LG's Steam Direct Drive washing machine can deliver

lg-steam-washing-machine(2).jpg

LG thinks you smell. It’s nothing personal, they just don’t approve of your washing methods up until now. Which is why they’ve launched some special new Steam Direct Drive washing machines, which promise to wash your clothes in just 20 minutes.

You can apparently shove up to 9kg of soiled clothes into the machines, and using steam instead of water, they’ll be odour-less and dry, ready for you to wear. It’s been given a rating of A++ in energy…

LG doesn't want to miss out on any OLED action, announces 32" panel

lg-logo-pic-one.jpg

Quite a lot of OLED news this week, with Samsung and Panasonic joining Sony to the super-thin panel race, and LG calling out after them “wait for me, guysch!” and announcing a massive 32″ screen.

Not much else is known about this mysterious 32″ OLED TV, except that LG’s factory in Paju, Korea, is ramping up the production of the panels, with the words ‘volume production’ being quoted. It looks likely that this 32″ TV is lined up for a 2011 release date, a couple of years after Samsung’s 2009 job. Hopefully…
