Apple may be planning ad-funded iTunes, according to UK Copyright Tribunal
If you’re not a music industry executive, you probably haven’t spent much time perusing the documents from the recent UK Copyright Tribunal’s decision on online royalty rates for music publishers. But some people have, and they’ve turned up evidence that Apple is planning to introduce ad-funded music on iTunes.

Apparently there’s four unused or ‘hidden’ applications on the iPhone: a translator, a converter, a phone book and a radio. At least, that’s what hackers are surmising after poking around the device’s software.

Manga coming to the iPhone
Japanese company Voice Bank has detailed a deal with the Digital Manga Association Japan to format their comic books specially for the iPhone.
Will Nokia launch an iTunes-rivalling online music service?
Nokia could well be gearing up to launch its own mobile music download service, if recent reports in Fortune Magazine are proved correct.
Sources close to Nokia’s CEO, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, claim that the new worldwide service could launch on 29th August at a London event featuring live music at the Ministry of Sound nightclub.
They also claim that the system would work much like iTunes, offering downloads of music tracks to a PC for transferring to mobile devices – either Nokia’s own, or others via DRM software.
