youview.jpgYouView, the long-awaited set-top box mash-up with both terrestrial TV and online video-on-demand channels, gets its first major content update today with the addition of BSkyB’s NOW TV movie streaming service.

Pulling in hundreds of films from the Sky Movies catalogue, viewers can sign up for a £15 a month pass that allows for unlimited viewing of the majority of the catalogue. There’s also a 30-day trial of the service, while there’s a “Pay & Play” option for single movie rentals, priced between 99p and £3.49. Things get a little confusing as certain rental movies aren’t covered by the £15 monthly pass however, so keep an eye on what you’re choosing to view if you’re counting the pennies.
now-tv-review-top.jpgExisting NOW TV customers merely have to pop their log-in details into the new YouView channel to get access to Sky’s content, which is already well served by a browser-based option and both Android and iOS apps. NOW TV will also shortly be hitting the Xbox 360, PS3 and Roku streaming box.
