Contrary to reports that the iPad would not turn out to be a mainstream success in the UK, it appears Apple have already sold out of their stock of tablet devices for British customers. Head over to the UK Apple Store and you’ll see that the shipping date for pre-orders has been pushed back, indicating a lack of units.
If you’ve pre-ordered yours prior to today, relax; your order should still be good to reach you by that original May 28th launch date. If you’ve only just got around to ordering one though, you’re going to have to wait a little over a week longer to get hold of yours, from June 7th.
Despite a slightly higher premium than the US iPad price, it seems the UK is still lapping the tablet up. Only three days since going up for pre-order isn’t a long time to run out of stock though, which leads us to think Apple may have pulled a fast one on UK customers in order to keep the USA in a sea of tablets.
