Honestly, you wait ages for a touchscreen BlackBerry, and then two come along at once. Hot on the heels of the Storm, comes this – another touchscreen BlackBerry device, but this one has a qwerty keypad, too.
The device, codenamed “Pluto”, will apparently be the same size and style as the Curve 8900. It’s being targeted at people who like having great phones, but aren’t so keen on the idea of typing on a touchscreen. I can certainly sympathise with that point of view.
Don’t get too excited yet, though. This baby isn’t due for release until the end of next year – Q3 or 4 2009. Given the delays inherent in pretty much every BlackBerry launch, I wouldn’t be surprised if this doesn’t surface till 2010.
