Microsoft launches 'affordable' LifeCam VX-5000 and LifeCam VX-500 webcams plus LifeChat LX-2000 headset

microsoft_lifecam.jpgMicrosoft has introduced the LifeCam VX-5000 and LifeCam VX-500 webcams and the LifeChat LX-2000 headset, the first of which has a ‘unique bendable attachment base’ that molds to virtually any surface so you can take it anywhere.

The LifeCam VX-5000 is available in Lucky Green, Fire Red and Cool Blue and offers MSN Photo Swap for exchanging pics in mid-conversation, on-touch calling, full navigational controls, a VGA sensor, (640×480 video resolution and 1.3-megapixel still photography and a built-in unidirectional microphone with acoustic noise cancellation.

Also available are the LifeCam VX-500 and LifeChat LX-2000, the former offering true VGA video, the latter being a collapsible headset for easy portability. Expect from June, with the LifeCam VX-5000 seling for $49.95 in the US, the VX-500 selling for $16.95 and the LX-2000 for $29.95.
