Dell continues its push into Linux-based computers with the launch of two Inspiron notebooks in Europe.
The 6400n and 530n will come with the Ubuntu 7.04 Linux operating system ready installed. According to Dell, over 30,000 community members at the Ideastorm website asked for Dell to consider launching systems with the Linux operating system, with 100,000 participating in a follow-up survey to determine which Linux system to offer.
Dell will also offer hardware options on each system that have the most mature and stable Linux driver support, fully tested and certified by Canonical.
The 6400n costs £329, while the 530n costs £399, with both available from tomorrow, 8th August.
