It might be able to withstand the elements, but now the Panasonic CF-74 Toughbook can offer improved processing power too, with the addition of Intel Centrino.

Based on the Mobile Intel 965GM Express chipset and an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7300, the CF-74 also features up to 4GB of memory, 13.3-inch anti-glare screen, multi-format CD/DVD drive, WLAN, Bluetooth and optional GPRS/EDGE and up to eight hours battery life.

And of course, that toughness – the internal electronics are protected by a shock-proof magnesium alloy casing and there’s a splash-proof keyboard and touchpad. The 80GB hard drive is also mounted in shock and vibration-resistant polymers, meaning it can even withstand a drop from up to 38 inches. Available now, priced around £2199 (ex VAT).
