Music Box – build your own MP3 player

MP3 players

Bored of everything looking like an iPod rip off? Then why not go into the MP3 player design business yourself, aided by the Music Box.

The Music Box is the bare bones of a music player, offering 256MB of storage, MP3, OGG and WMA playback and a USB plug and earphones. In its basic state, the Music Box is just that – a small cardboard box. But add your own covering and you have a unique music player, even if it does only have limited memory and lacks a screen.

Confused? Check out Akihabara News, which has a selection of players made by crafty types. I’m sure you can do better with the kit, which retails for $68.55 (around £35).
