topuptvanytime.gifTop Up TV have confirmed that Top Up TV Anytime DTRs (Digital TV Recorders) are now being dispatched to customers and anyone who has already ordered one should get their box before Christmas. We first reported on these boxes back in November.

The Top Up TV Anytime Service gives access to an additional range of 19 channels from the likes of Disney, MTV, Paramount Comedy, LivingTV, and PictureBox, depending upon how much is paid per month. Setanta Sports will also be available in 2007, giving access to 46 English Premiership football matches.

The box comes with two digital tuners, access to all the standard Freeview channels, the ability to pause and playback live TV, as well as recording one channel and watching another, or recording two channels, at once.

It comes with a 160GB hard disk giving up to 120 hours of recording time. It comes with a bespoke Top Up TV Anytime remote control and a Scart lead.

Connections include two Scart sockets, a S-Video output, RF modulator and RF loop through, and a digital audio output.

The Top Up TV Anytime service costs £9.99 per month, and for £5 extra users can receive PictureBox and get access to 30 movies every month.

Once the Top Up TV Anytime DTR has been set up, new programmes will be sent overnight to the user’s box and stored on the hard drive. Each programme put onto the box will stay there for seven days after which time it will be refreshed by something new. Roughly 100 hours worth of programmes will be on the drive at any one time, leaving 20 hours for a user’s own TV recordings.
