With UK leglisation of low-power FM transmitters just around the corner (well, sometimes this year anyway), there’s no shortage of options for playing your music through your FM stereo – the latest of which is this iStuff iCast Universal FM Transmitter.

It’s a pretty straightforward device. The FM transmitter simply plugs into the standard headphone jack on your iPod (which also means it also fits a whole range of other gadgets you might want to stream from). It promises outstanding signal clarity across its 199 FM frequencies available, between 88.1 and 107.9 Mhz, pumping music through 40dB separation. A backlit LCD screen should also make it easy to tune into an available frequency in any conditions.

And if you don’t want to drain your player’s power, you can use a 1AAA battery or car cigarette lighter to power up the device. Available now, you can pick up the iCast for around £30.
