Whatever the peeps at Opera did with their DS web browser, it must have
made a good impression with the Nintendo bosses: it was revealed last
week that the new console, the Wii, would be getting its very own
version of the software.
All we know is that it will be “fast and
secure with support for the latest standards including AJAX.” I guess
we’ll just have to wait and see what clever tricks the Wiimote
can perform in an internet setting. Meanwhile Opera for the DS is due
out in summer in Japan while the global launch which we were expecting in June is now back to an unknown status.
