Pace debuts HD recorder

Satellite TV

Another interesting product from Pace. This time it’s a personal video recorder (PVR) specifically for recording High Definition (HD) content. OK so HD isn’t exactly widespread in the UK at the moment (not helped by the fact that we didn’t agree on an HD standard for digital TV). However, Sky has made a commitment to launch an HD channel next year and there is already a European-based HD satellite channel broadcasting via satellite (see for more information).
Dubbed the TDX840, the new product features a minimum 160Gb hard drive and can be configured to any of the major conditional access systems (including Sky’s Videoguard standard). It is due to launch in the second half of 2005. Prices and partners have yet to be announced.
