Oops. Dave Perry, the founder of Shiny Entertainment (no relation), revealed in Leipzig today that Sony has lost more money marketing the PS3 to a reluctant audience than they made during the five years that the PS2 was top dog of the console world.
The figures come from DFC Intelligence, a "strategic" market research firm. As opposed to a sporadic market research firm, I suppose. The figure that they reckon Sony have spent totals out at US$3 billion. Ouch. That's the cost of 7.5 million PS3s. Or 11 million Wiis. Maybe that's why no-one's buying it, guys...
