Virgin Mobile introduces SIM free handset deals, iPhone 6s for £289.99

Virgin Mobile has launched SIM free handset deals, giving customers the freedom to buy selected handsets without having to commit to monthly repayments.

Those who are after a new handset, but want to avoid a monthly price tag, can now buy a brand new iPhone 6s, Huawei P Smart or Samsung J3 outright and have the option to add a Virgin Mobile SIM Only deal or stick to just the handset.

Virgin Mobile customers can get a standalone iPhone 6s for £289.99 which it claims is the UK’s cheapest price for this device and add a SIM Only deal including 6GB data for £9 a month. As all handsets are sold unlocked, customers who choose to purchase a SIM free handset have the flexibility to add a SIM Only plan from Virgin Mobile or from another provider.

Virgin Mobile’s new SIM free handsets can be purchased online, in Virgin Media stores or over the phone. As with Virgin Mobile’s Pay Monthly plans, the new handset offering gives customers a 14 day cooling off period should they change their mind.

Annie Brooks, Executive Director of Mobile at Virgin Media said: “We want to offer our customers great value and choice, and by introducing SIM free handsets our customers now have even more freedom to choose what is right for them. From great prices on handsets to data packed SIM Only deals and flexible tariffs, we’ve got something for everyone.”

In addition to SIM free handsets, Virgin Mobile continues to offer Freestyle and Classic Pay Monthly plans as well as a range of SIM Only deals including 120GB for £20 which is available from now until 31 January.
