Details of the forthcoming version 2.5 PS4 firmware have been leaked – with some useful new features in offing.

According to Push Square, the major new feature with the update will be the ability to suspend and resume gameplay – picking up where you left off. So now you’ll be able to put your console in rest mode, and then when you come out be back in the game even quicker than ever. Brilliant.

Share Play is also getting improvements – with remote players now able to to play at 60fps (with frame rate controls that the host can adjust if their connection is not up to it). You’ll also start to see suggested friends in your friends list, based on your Facebook friends who have a PS4, but who you’re not yet friends with.

There’s a few other minor tweaks as well, but those appear to be the big ones. At the moment, the update is being tested by beta users, and we’ll let you know when it lands for the likes of you and I.
