Hi-tech e-bike JIVR will now ship in September after reaching its funding target after just two weeks. The first foldable, chainless electric bike was due to hit its target by April 10, but reached the £70,000 landmark well ahead of schedule.

Marcin Piatkowski, the Polish-born creator of the JIVR bike, commented: “I have been overwhelmed and humbled by the amount of support we have received. And I am also hugely encouraged by the feedback we have had, which we can take on board to refine our technology further.”

He continued: “We always knew the importance of ambassadors and we are so pleased that our programme of reduced cost bikes in return for feedback and ‘word-of-bike’ has proven to be so successful. There are still places available and we hope to welcome more people on board.”

The foldable, chainless e-bike can be picked up for as little as £699 – though you have to sign up to the Ambassador Programme to get it for this price. Even if you don’t sign up for the programme, you can get one for as little as £849 if you live in a city with a population of over one million. All they’re asking in exchange is that you commit to cycling more often, write a review, post photos on social media and tweet about your JIVR experiences regularly.

Disclosure: techdigest.tv’s sister agency, Sutro Digital, has been working with JIVR Bike to launch its Kickstarter campaign.
