Is Apple planning a Genius Bar overhaul?

Apple could be changing the way its Genius Bar works – to prioritise big problems over little ones.

According to 9to5Mac a new service, known as “Concierge” will take customer requests and prioritise them. 9to5Mac gives the example of a broken iPhone screen being judged more important than a minor iCloud syncing issue – because at least in the latter situation your phone is still useable.

The concierge will then send text message reminders to customers warning them how long they should expect to wait, and when to head into the store.

It sounds like a smart move on Apple’s part, as it could conceivably make customers even happier… though we still wouldn’t like to be the person stuck at the back of the queue because of something minor but annoying.
