Is Nintendo working on a “doughnut” shaped device?!
Share
Reports suggest that Nintendo is working on a device with a screen that will have a hole in the middle. Why? We’ve no idea.
The news comes courtesy of the Japan Times, which reports that Nintendo will be using Sharp’s “Free-Form LCDs”, which apparently can be manufactured in any shape the client wants – and Nintendo apparently wants doughnuts.
The speculation is that this could be for new displays in some sort of successor to the 3DS – or even the WiiU. Surely a doughnut display would be most at home on a controller where it can surround buttons?
We’ll keep you posted if we learn anything more.
