Google Maps massively improves UK public transport directions

Excellent news for British users of Google Maps (so, almost everyone then). The company have announced that they’ve improved public transport directions – now pulling in data of every train, bus, ferry and tram in the country.

According to Pocket Lint, they’ve done a deal with Traveline – who track all of this data nationwide – as well as National Express to make directions even more accurate. This means that Google will now give you real-time directions between any two points in the UK – mashing up different forms of travel to get you to your destination. Brilliant.
