Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet coming to Carphone Warehouse – with pre-order bonus

Carphone Warehouse have announced that the Nokia Lumia 2520, the company’s first foray into the tablet market, will be coming to their stores umm… shortly. They haven’t actually announced a date – but pre-orders are now available.

The Windows 8 tablet isn’t brand new – it was available from just before Christmas at John Lewis, but it seems that exclusivity deal has just expired. The tablet is a pretty good attempt at taking on the iPad – it sports a fast processor, a 10.1″ full 1080p HD screen, 32gb of RAM, 4G and a quadcore processor. So it’s not to be sniffed at.

The only downside, as we wrote in our review, was the lack of ecosystem support for Windows. Even though the tablet is nice to use (the keyboard makes a particularly satisfying noise, would you believe) – there’s simply not as many apps available as there would be for iPad and Android.

Pre-orders have just started – the tablet will set you back £399 for a SIM free version. Apparently everyone who preorders (whilst stocks last) will get the fold out keyboard accessory thrown in for free (it would usually cost £99).
