Microsoft bouncers manhandle granny at Chinese Surface launch

Microsoft, this is how NOT to endear your customers to your new product.

At last night’s Surface tablet launch event in Beijing, China, Microsoft threw a bit of a party with dancers and noisy dance music, kicking off at midnight to mark the release of Windows 8 and the Surface RT tablet itself.

Being a late night open-air event a few local residents took offence, as the noise was keeping them awake.

One grandma in particular was riled, as her grandchildren couldn’t get to sleep and it was a school night. She and her husband took it upon themselves to rush the stage and try to get the event shut down.

They were met by dozens of burly bouncers, who forcibly removed the pair in a pretty rough manner. They’re of bloody pension age, for crying out loud!

You can see the events in the video above. Here’s hoping they at least got a free tablet as recompense.

  • so if youre over a certain age you are free to do anything you like? i dont get the logic of the author. these people made a clear choice, and to be removed from the stage is not exCtly the end of the world..
