Today John Carmack co-founder at id Software gave us a small glimmer of insight into how the development of the long awaited Doom 4 is progressing.
Carmack stating that Doom 4 will be “done when it’s done” at least giving the fans of the series the hope that the game isn’t being rush released and that hopefully their patience will pay off.
Despite id Software formally putting much of their efforts into mobile Carmack has now expressed that “Essentially everybody will be focussed on Doom 4” however then stating that id software’s attention will eventually return to mobile “”I hope that we do get back to mobile in various ways in the future, but the real aim is blockbuster triple-A titles, and for id that means Doom 4”
However earlier on in the year a bunch of promising images were leaked of the unfinished Doom 4. Although no beasts were shown we did get some nice teasing images of some blood splattered walls and sweet scenery shots as seen below:
Meanwhile the trailer shown at QuakeCon of Doom 3 Lost Missions which crams in eight new chaotic levels is due for release on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on October 16th is now available to watch below:
