LOVEFiLM sign exclusivity deal with Universal Pictures: Snow White and the Huntsman, Battleship streaming incoming

snow-white-and-the-huntsman-poster.jpgLOVEFiLM have today secured a new multi-year exclusivity deal with Universal Pictures that will see the Amazon-owned rental and streaming service get first dibs when it comes to streaming Universal’s movies as of the second pay window.

Through the LOVEFiLM Instant service, customers will be able to stream a number of Universal Pictures flicks to a range of devices, including PC, Mac, Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Apple iPad and a growing number of internet-connected TV sets and Blu-ray players.

Being a deal that stretches considerably into the future, it also means that LOVEFiLM have bagged eventual exclusive streaming rights to some of this summer’s top blockbusters, including Snow White and the Huntsman and Battleship.

Other movies coming to LOVEFiLM Instant as part of the deal include ‘It’s Complicated’, ‘Nanny McPhee Returns’, ‘Leap Year’, ‘Green Zone’, ‘The Wolfman’, ‘Robin Hood’, ‘Scott Pilgrim vs The World’, ‘The American’, ‘Paul’, ‘Fast And Furious 5’, ‘Bridesmaids’, ‘Johnny English Reborn’,’Senna’, ‘Kick-Ass’, ‘Bourne Legacy’, ‘Dr Seuss’ The Lorax’ and ‘Safe House’.

NBCUniversal is also LOVEFiLM’s latest exclusive streaming deal in our quest to deliver the widest choice of content on as many platforms as possible.”

The NBCUniversal agreement is the latest in a long line of exclusive content deals announced by LOVEFiLM as the streaming service looks to battle rival Netflix, including agreements with Disney, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros, Entertainment One and STUDIOCANAL.
