After a fair old wait, Nintendo 3DS customers get their first glimpse at Sky’s 3D content on their glasses-free 3D handhelds today.
First announced back in January, a trailer for upcoming Sky 3D show Meerkats 3D is the first fruit of the partnership.
The documentary clip is accompanied by a new 3D video of magic tricks too, for any budding Paul Daniels out there. Nintendo have also lined up deals with animation studio Aardman for clips from Shaun The Sheep 3D, as well as sporting content from EuroSport.
After a shakey start, the drastic price cuts for Nintendo’s console have seen its popularity pick up. Nintendo, however, are no longer the force they once were in the mobile gaming space, with tablets and smartphones now biting into a sizeable chunk of their market.
Still, 3D updates like this, making the most of the 3DS’s unique features, will go a long way towards making the console more lust worthy. Here’s hoping next time we get something a little bit more substantial than a 3D meerkats documentary next time though.
