iPad apps, Tech Digest news

love-film-ipad-top.jpgLOVEFiLM movie streaming is now available on the iPad courtesy of the LOVEFiLM Player app.

The app lets you browse and stream a sizeable catalogue of flicks on the go, with all the usual pause/fast-forward/rewind playback controls you’d expect.

Fans of brooding sultry vampire types will be pleased to hear that the app is also the exclusive streaming home of the latest R-Patz Tiwlight movie, Eclipse.

It’s a very tablet-friendly interface, with large movie thumbnails and multiple wars of searching the LOVEFiLM movie catalogue. It’s a shame that the amoung of movies available to stream isn’t quite as many as the physical DVDs you can send away for with LOVEFiLM, but we can see this app making many a long car journey far more bearable.

Simon Calver, CEO of Lovefilm, said: “In the process of making our service more portable than ever before, Lovefilm on iPad is the latest exciting step in giving film fans total control over their viewing schedule and our commitment to expanding the ways in which members can stream movies on a range of devices.”

The app can be downloaded for free by clicking here, but to get the most out of it you’re going to have to at least subscribe to LOVEFiLM’s £5.99 a month package.
