Foursquare, has announced that they will be revamping its business pages in order to target brands and local businesses. This move comes as the location-based social network service faces increasing competition from Facebook Places.
The revamped “Foursquare for Business” pages will including a detailed “walk-through” guide for businesses explaining how venue owners can effectively run and track campaigns on its merchant platform. They will also teach brands how to create pages and utilise its badges-rewards system in order to drive consumer engagement.
It will be interesting to see if this revamped approach to the business side of Foursquare will help them to compete against Facebook’s Places.
