Kodak Playtouch.jpgKodak have today revealed they will be adding the Playtouch to their line of pocket camcorders. Featuring full 1080p HD recording modes and a 3 inch capacitive touchscreen, users will be able to do some simple video editing straight from the device itself.

The Playtouch also features a “Share” button for quickly uploading videos to YouTube and Facebook when the camera is connected to a PC via USB. Alternatively, you can hook the Playtouch up to a TV with the included HDMI cable to play back your videos.

The camcorder can store as much as 32GB of recordings at once through its expandable SD/SDHC card slot, while photos can also be taken with the 5MP still sensor, which features face-tracking technology.

“Kodak has firmly established itself as a leader in the digital pocket video camera space since introducing its line in 2008, and continues to be one of the most highly rated and recommended in this category,” said Phil Scott, Vice President of Marketing, Digital Capture and Devices, Kodak. “We’re committed to providing our consumers with innovative and intuitive products that satisfy their needs. Whether it’s a night out on the town with friends or your child’s school play, the Kodak Playtouch Video Camera makes capturing and sharing your favourite moments simple and fun.”

The Playtouch has been given an Autumn release date. Retailing in the US for around $230, expect to see it sell on this side of the pond for around £150.
