It must have been, ooh, nearly a week since our last new netbook announcement, so thank you Samsung for breaking the literally days of silence by announcing the N310.

The new netbook, which follows on from the NC10 series, will be 10.1 inches, including an unspecified Atom processor and 160gb hard disk space. Long gone are the days when your netbook’s storage space would be dwarfed by your mp3 player. It will also offer optional HSDPA or WiBro connectivity for internet when wireless signal is out of reach.

Elsewhere the specifications look fairly standard. You can expect 1gb of RAM, a three in one card reader, 1.3-megapixel webcam, Bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-Fi b/g. It’ll weigh 1.23kg and offer around five hours of battery life, or 11 with the extended pack.

It’s quite a looker as you can see from the above picture. Samsung has described the finish as “pebble smooth”, which should make it look extra stylish when it’s released. No price as of yet, but we’ll keep you informed.
