A new Walkman phone has been announced, confirming that Sony is still desperately trying to make its formerly number one brand relevant to the present day (see also: Playstation). The Sony Ericsson W705 sounds pretty swish, and boasts some interesting attributes.

Obviously it’ll play your music, but what’s interesting is that it comes bundled with a 4GB M2 Memory Stick on which to put the music – pretty generous. It also comes bundled with some posh headphones.

The camera is fairly decent too – 3.2 megapixel with an LED flash. And given that there’s built in GPS (fast becoming standard in phones, it seems), here’s hoping there’s some automatic geotagging.

As Sony only want young trendies to buy it, and not stuffy businessmen, it’ll be available in red or silver, rather than beige, grey or black. Apparently it’ll be out early next year. Can’t wait.
