Sony has announced another two sets of high definition tellies, the BRAVIA X4500 Series and the BRAVIA W4500 Series.

While both happily handle full 1080p high definition, the X4500 series uses a LED backlight on the 46 and 55 inch screens, while the W4500 uses standard LCD technology.

The top-of-range X4500 TVs offer “PRO” versions of Sony’s BRAVIA ENGINE 2 image processing and Motionflow 100Hz technology, while the W4500 makes do with standard versions, though most users probably won’t be able to tell the difference.

The X4500 range also offers an innovative audio system with up to six main speakers and two woofer speakers – fairly unusual for a TV.

Finally, the X4500 Series has been designed with a translucent frame to give the illusion of floating, while the W4500 Series picks up Sony’s “draw the LINE” design.

The X4500 series will be available in 40, 46, and 55 inch screen sizes, while the W4500 Series comes in 40, 46, and 52 inch models.

Exact pricing and availability to be confirmed.

I love your site and the article is useful!

    • They do look pretty good, eh? Mind you, I’m finding it hard to keep up with the number of BRAVIA TVs Sony is bringing out. Perhaps that’s why the company is thinking of doing a BRAVIA mobile phone, just to diversify…
